About
Me
It was 10 years ago that
I sat down with a cup of tea and read an article in the paper about
Yoga. ASHTANGA YOGA!
I had always thought yoga
was for “old ladies” who didn’t really want to do
much! How wrong was I?
I had always tried to keep “fit” in the past by running
and circuit training, but never felt happy, something seemed not quite
right.
However, the article I read
kept praying on my mind, the images of strong, fit, lean looking people.
People, who looked in total control of their bodies. People like Madonna
and Sting who are fans of Ashtanga Yoga.
I would say they looked Athletic and strong with a kind of grace and
ease that made me want to explore this further! I found a teacher, a
small, humble man and after the first class of Ashtanga Yoga, I was
totally hooked! This is what had been missing in my life!!! Instead
of pounding the streets, or slogging away at the circuit training, I
gave it all up and decided to devote my whole way of life to the yogic
way!
Yoga has totally transformed
my life! It has changed me for the better. Yoga helps you to become
very body aware, and keeps you calm, emotionally balanced ( at all times
of the month ) and strong minded with an inner confidence that just
seems to shine through to all those who meet you.
I trained with BSY to become a qualified teacher in 2005 and now the
whole family are devoted yogis!!! I have a teenage son and daughter
and one daughter aged 20 who is also studying to become a teacher of
yoga.
I have been lucky enough
to have trained in London with David Swenson and Liz Lark!
I have had the honour of teaching Princess Azeema privately for 2 years
while she was in the UK. I now have many classes in and around Coventry
and Warwickshire.
I am also trained in Indian Head Massage and am currently studying Thai
Yoga Massage.
