ABOUT
FAY:
Fay holds
a Diploma in Yoga Teaching with the British School of Yoga and has been
practicing
yoga for 10 years, teaching for 4 years.
Fay currently
teaches many classes, days and evenings, in and around
Coventry and Warwickshire (see
classes page)
Fay is also available to teach on a one to one basis, your place or
hers.
Teaching one to one allows her to tailor the practice to suit your
needs and is a flexible option as opposed to a taught class.
While the practice is mainly known for the asana’s (postures), because
after all it is a good thing to stretch and tone; Fay's yoga
practice also incorporates the use of focusing the gaze and breath
control.
Focusing the gaze is known among yogis as ‘drishti’. This technique
which Fay practice's helps to still the ever wondering mind and it
brings us back to the present moment. When the gaze is fixed upon a
single point, the mind is less likely to be distracted by thoughts
provided by visual stimuli (the stain on the carpet, the chipped nail
varnish on your toes). These thoughts distract and pollute the
mind, causing it to constantly churn and fluctuate.
Using
the breath, together with the steady gaze and asana's (postures) the
mind is calmed and the nervous system is soothed. The beautifully toned
and sculpted body comes as a side effect to your yoga
practice......breath, stretch and relax.......
